i2Align is a software product that picks up where a GIS product like Google Earth leaves off, while Google Earth captures the unfamiliar view of rooftops; i2Align works with the more familiar ground level view you might see from a window or sidewalk. Unlike Google Earth, which works with satellite imagery, i2Align works with images captured from any digital camera.
i2Align can be used to showcase properties or locations like a house, hotel, resort, or city. The user can take dozens; hundreds; or thousands of images a property or location and i2Align will automatically generate a single high definition file that can be viewed on the Internet. This file would contain more detail than the most expensive cameras could possibly ever deliver. The user can then merge information with the image to create a high definition, information rich tour of that scene. This gives the potential tourist, hotel guest, or homebuyer an incredibly rich experience that allows them to zoom out and get a bird’s eye view of the scene or zoom in to examine the tiles on the floor.
Unlike other methods and technologies in the marketplace, i2Align is capable of automatically determining if a group of images belong together, even if the images were taken by different cameras, at different times and with little overlap. It is this robustness that allows i2Align to be used by both novices and pros alike, as the user does not need a tripod or any special equipment to create high definition, information rich tours.
i2Align can also be used to showcase products such as cars, boats, and tractors on the Internet. Currently users who wish to display their products on eBay must rely on antiquated formats that only allow a user to display a product at screen resolutions, forcing the seller to upload dozens of photos of the same product in order to give the potential buyer a feel for the product. Withi2Align sellers can take dozens of images of their product and i2Align will generate one high definition file, which the seller can then merge with information to give the buyer an unprecedented feel for the product.
i2Align will be unveiled at the 2007 NAR convention in Las Vegas. Please stop by booth 4156 to get a sneak peak.
